Karst landscapes in Guangxi, China, can pose risks like water inrush and collapse during tunnel construction. A method was developed for treating karst caverns in the Hechi‐Baise expressway tunnels. The approach involved calculating safe tunnel face thickness, strengthening initial support, increasing second lining thickness, allowing for deformation, and grouting. This method successfully treated a karst cavern in the Hebai tunnels.
