Sunshine and heat drive evaporation, shaping weather patterns and water resources.
The study looked at how different weather factors affect evaporation in Calcutta, Pune, and New Delhi. They analyzed data from 1991-94 for January, May, June, July, and October. Radiation and maximum temperature were found to be the most important factors that increase evaporation. Humidity and wind don't directly affect evaporation, but they can influence it through their interaction with temperature.
