Organic waste turned into nutrient-rich earthworm biomass for sustainable composting.
Organic waste can be turned into compost by using earthworms like Eisenia foetida. The researchers tested different types of organic waste to see which one is best for growing these earthworms. They found that horse manure was the most effective, producing the most earthworms and biomass. The number and weight of earthworms were closely related, but not the number of cocoons. Blending different organic wastes can make nutrient-rich earthworm biomass and compost.
