Accounting data trumps financial market data in Indonesian stock evaluations.
Investors in the Indonesian stock market during the Covid-19 pandemic should focus more on accounting data than financial market data when evaluating investment options. By analyzing accounting variables like book value and cash flow, it was found that accounting information is more reliable for predicting stock prices. The study compared two models, CAPM and Ohlson, and found that the Ohlson model had a positive correlation with stock prices. This suggests that investors should pay closer attention to accounting data to make informed investment decisions during uncertain times like the pandemic.
