Researchers tested using di-ethyl ether (DEE) mixed with diesel in a tractor engine to reduce emissions. They found that DEE-diesel blends can improve engine performance and lower NOx emissions without needing major engine changes. The blends showed slightly better efficiency and lower emissions compared to regular diesel, especially at lower to medium engine loads. This study suggests that DEE could be a good alternative fuel for tractors, offering both performance and environmental benefits.
