Sewage Treatment Plant in Malaysia Successfully Meets Environmental Standards.
The Activated Sludge Hi-Kleen Treatment Plant (ASHTP) at UiTM Sarawak Branch was evaluated for its performance in treating sewage wastewater. The study found that both ASHTP at H Block and L Block met the standard discharge limits, with satisfactory removal efficiencies of pollutants like turbidity, COD, and TSS. The treated effluent from both plants had pH levels around 7.30, temperatures between 27.90-28.10°C, and lower levels of pollutants compared to the raw influent. Proper maintenance of sewage treatment plants is crucial for their effectiveness and longevity.
