Sustainable Farming Boosts Crop Yields and Soil Health in Rice-Wheat Systems
The study looked at how different types of fertilizers affect nitrogen levels and crop yield in rice and wheat crops. They tested various combinations of chemical fertilizers and organic manures in a field in Punjab. Results showed that using a mix of chemical fertilizers and farmyard manure led to higher nitrogen levels in the soil during the growth of both rice and wheat. This combination also increased the grain and straw yield of the crops. Overall, using integrated nutrient management practices improved the availability of nitrogen for the plants and resulted in higher productivity of rice and wheat.
