The study looked at who started receiving basic income support for jobseekers between 2010 and 2017 and how their previous job situation influenced this. Over 1 million people entered this support each year, with about one third already receiving benefits in the past year. Interestingly, more people moved from employment to this support than from being on unemployment benefits.
