Beach nourishment found more cost-effective than hard approaches for erosion prevention
The article compares the costs of using hard (submerged breakwater) and soft (beach nourishment) methods to prevent beach erosion. The study focused on Sokcho Beach and found that beach nourishment is more cost-effective when the sand loss rate is below 0.167 yr–1. Beach nourishment was also seen as eco-friendly and more effective when combined with other soft approaches.
