The article looks at how wages for men and women with different levels of education changed in Germany from 1996 to 2019. They found that wages increased for all education levels, but plateaued for university graduates between 2011 and 2015 before declining. This decline may be due to more people getting higher education and changes in the subjects they study. There were also differences between East and West Germany that became less pronounced over time.
