The study tested how using Phase Change Material in building envelopes affects energy consumption and thermal performance in medium office buildings in Cairo. The researchers used a simulation tool to model different building envelopes with PCM material to see how it impacts indoor comfort and energy use. They found that incorporating PCM in the building envelope can help reduce HVAC energy consumption and improve indoor thermal comfort in hot climates like Egypt.
