Ghost nets, abandoned fishing gear, are increasing in Northern Australia's Gulf of Carpentaria. Despite efforts to clean up, the number of ghost nets is going up over the years. This shows that there are more nets being lost than being removed. Monitoring needs to be improved to manage this issue better.
