Protecting Forests Vital for Bird Diversity in Agricultural Landscapes.
Tropical forests being turned into farmland can harm bird species. The study looked at how different habitats and forest proximity affect bird diversity in human-altered landscapes. They caught 180 birds from 37 species in fruit orchards, oil palm, and rubber plantations. More bird species were found in fruit orchards. The number of trees, habitat type, and month influenced bird weight. Protecting remaining forests is crucial for bird conservation. Better landscape planning can boost bird diversity in tropical farms.
