Media Coverage Drives Regulatory Reforms, Boosting Business Opportunities Worldwide
The article investigates how media influences political decisions by looking at how coverage of business regulations in the media affects actual reforms. The researchers used data from the World Bank to analyze media coverage of business regulations and the implementation of reforms in 190 countries. They found that countries with more media coverage of business regulations tend to carry out more reforms. Specifically, more media articles increase the likelihood of a country implementing reforms, and countries with greater media coverage of business indicators tend to have more reforms in place.
