New Rice Genotypes Boost Yield in Eastern Uttar Pradesh Zone
The researchers evaluated 26 different types of rice to see which ones would grow best in a specific area in Uttar Pradesh. They looked at things like plant height, number of tillers, and grain yield. They found that Burma Black Rice had the highest grain yield per hill, followed by Chinniponni and Assami Variety. The study showed that there is a lot of genetic variability among the rice genotypes, with biological yield having the highest variability. They also found that traits like plant height, panicle length, and number of tillers per plant were positively correlated with grain yield. Overall, certain characteristics like days to flowering and number of tillers had a direct positive effect on grain yield.
