New Organic Soil Stabilizer Controls Erosion and Boosts Plant Growth on Loess Plateau
A new soil stabilizer called cross-linked polymers (CLPs) was tested on the Loess Plateau to prevent erosion and improve soil quality. The CLPs increased soil strength, reduced disintegration, and helped plants grow better. They didn't change the minerals in the soil but improved its structure, making it more compact and less prone to erosion. Field tests showed that CLPs effectively controlled erosion on hillsides. This study suggests that using CLPs can help protect the soil on the Loess Plateau and support vegetation growth.
