New rice cultivation method boosts farmer income and saves time
A new farming method called Mechanized System Rice Intensification (MSRI) was introduced in Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh, to help rice farmers save time and money. By using MSRI technology, farmers saw a 20.76% increase in rice yield compared to traditional methods. This led to an additional income of Rs.15038 per hectare, with a reduction in cultivation costs by Rs.1150. The key benefits of MSRI included less manual labor needed, improved yield, and overall increased profitability for farmers in the region.
