Renewable and Nuclear Energy Curb Emissions in BRICS, Reversing Environmental Damage
The study analyzed the impact of economic growth, non-renewable energy use, renewable energy use, and nuclear energy use on carbon dioxide emissions in BRICS countries from 1996 to 2016. Non-renewable energy consumption increased carbon dioxide emissions, while renewable and nuclear energy consumption decreased emissions in the long run. The Environmental Kuznets Curve was observed in BRICS, showing a decrease in emissions after reaching a certain level of economic development in 2016.
