Infrastructure projects are crucial for a country's development, but getting funding for them is tough. Crowdfunding is becoming popular in Europe and America for financing these projects, but not so much in Asian countries. Four successful crowdfunding platforms in Europe and America have raised money for infrastructure projects. By looking at these platforms, the study suggests four crowdfunding models that Asian countries can use: blended finance, cross-border citizen funding, commercial infrastructure financing, and within-country crowdfunding.
