Organic Fertilizers Boost Radish Yields, Improve Farmer Livelihoods
In a study on radish growth and yield, researchers mixed organic manures and bio-fertilizers to see what worked best. They tested different combinations in the field and found that when they used PSB (4 kg/ha) and vermicompost (5 t/ha) together, the radish plants grew the tallest (34.5 cm), had more leaves (11.82 per plant), and produced larger roots (25.2 cm long, 2.96 cm wide). These plants were also heavier (115.5 g root weight) and gave the most yield per plot (6.70 kg). The whole plant weighed 224.3 g, and the harvest index was 36.42%. The combination of PSB and vermicompost also gave the best cost-benefit ratio of 2.50. Basically, using PSB (4 kg/ha) with vermicompost (5 t/ha) together can help you get more radishes when you grow them.
