Innovative Farming Technique Boosts Rice Yields, Transforms Livelihoods in Rural Indonesia
A study compared two rice farming methods in Singamerta village, Banten. The "Jajar Legowo 4:1" system resulted in higher income and efficiency compared to the conventional method. The revenue from the "Jajar Legowo 4:1" system was Rp.22.251.527,-/ha/season, while the conventional system earned Rp.17.929.847,-/ha/season. The "Jajar Legowo 4:1" system had a r/c ratio of 2.80, while the conventional system had a ratio of 2.47. This shows that the "Jajar Legowo 4:1" system is more efficient for rice farming in the area.
