Women's happiness surpasses men's, but pandemic threatens progress.
The study looked at how happy men and women in the US have been over the past few decades by analyzing their daily activities. They found that women's overall happiness has improved compared to men's for most of the time period studied. However, during the Covid-19 pandemic, women lost about half of the gains they had made since the 1980s. This suggests that women were more affected by the pandemic than men. The researchers also found similar trends in the UK.
