Turning Oil Palm Waste into Eco-Friendly Biofuels and Materials
Oil Palm biomass is a valuable resource for making bioenergy and biomaterials, but separating cellulose fibers from it is tricky because of its complex structure. Scientists tried using a combination of ionic liquid pretreatment and enzymatic delignification to break down the tough lignin in the biomass. They found that this method helped to separate the cellulose fibers more efficiently, making them easier to use for making eco-friendly materials.
