The article examines how efficient manufacturing industries in India have been in using resources to produce goods. They looked at data from 2008-09 to 2017-18 and found that technological changes led to the highest productivity growth in 2015-16. Overall, there was a positive trend in productivity growth during the study period. Industries making magnetic and optical media, as well as jewelry, showed the highest productivity growth. This increase in productivity was mainly due to advancements in technology.
