Optimal conditions for oyster larvae growth and survival discovered.
The study looked at how temperature and salt levels affect the growth and survival of black-shell Pacific oyster larvae. They found that higher temperatures led to faster growth but lower survival rates. The best conditions for growth and survival were between 25-29℃. The oysters can tolerate a range of salt levels, but do best at salinities between 21-31. To get the most oysters, they should be raised at temperatures of 25-29℃ and salinities of 21-31.
