Frozen buffalo eggs could save endangered species
Buffalo ovaries were used to preserve immature oocytes for future embryo production. The scientists tried different mixtures and timings to freeze the oocytes successfully. They found that using a solution with specific ingredients and timing led to the best results, with nearly all oocytes surviving freezing. However, the frozen oocytes did not develop embryos as well as fresh ones. The study shows that buffalo oocytes can be frozen using a particular method, but more research is needed to improve embryo development after freezing.
