Globalization Boosts Brazil's Trade Ties, Gravity Model Predicts
The gravity model of international trade suggests that countries trade more with larger economies closer to them. A study looked at Brazil's trade patterns with 167 partners in 2018 to test this model. The researchers found that the gravity model successfully predicted the trade volumes between Brazil and its trading partners for that year. This means that countries tend to trade more with big economies nearby, similar to how objects are more attracted to bigger objects closer to them.
