Decentralization in Thai Public Policy Threatens Local Autonomy and Power
The research looked at how decentralization is talked about in Thai public policy, how it's put into action, and what impact it has on local administration. They used critical discourse analysis to study documents, laws, and interviews with experts. The findings show that while the policy promotes decentralization and local autonomy, in practice, it can actually lead to less autonomy for local administrations. The more regulations are imposed, the less control local areas have over their own affairs.
