India's Food Processing Sector Holds Untapped Potential to Reduce Waste, Boost Exports
The food processing industry in India is important for the economy, but there are issues with wastage and lack of processing facilities. In 2014-15, the sector contributed 8.6% to the manufacturing sector's value. From 2011 to 2016, India's exports of processed food grew by 11.74% annually, reaching $16.2 billion.
