Revolutionary Mapping Technique Unveils Hidden Karst Landforms in Southwest China

The study looked at changes in karst rocky desertification in southern and western China from 2000 to 2015. They found that the total area of rocky desertification decreased during this time, mainly due to human activities. Reduction in farmland area and improved management led to positive development, while local karst tourism had a slight negative impact on rocky desertification.
