Climate Change Threatens Water Availability in Nepal's Thuli Bheri Basin
Climate change is heating up the world, affecting water resources like rivers. Scientists in Nepal studied how different climate models predict changes in the Thuli Bheri River Basin. They used a computer model to estimate future river flow, focusing on the years 2021-2099. The results show that temperatures will rise, impacting water availability. Rainfall might decrease or increase slightly, with an overall increase in river flow of 9-13%. However, these predictions have wide variations and show more uncertainty during heavy rain seasons. This research helps prepare for water management challenges in the future.
