Sowing Rapeseed in Early May Boosts Yields, Transforming Crop Production in Lithuania
This study looked at how the time when spring rapeseed is planted affects how well it grows and how many seeds it produces. The researchers planted the rapeseed at different times over two years to see what happened. They found that planting in late April gave the highest seed yields, while planting later reduced the amount of seeds produced. Early planting led to heavier seeds, while later planting reduced overall crop yields. The weather seemed to have a bigger impact on how the rapeseed grew and how many seeds it made than the exact planting date. Overall, planting spring rapeseed in late April seemed to be the best time for getting a good harvest.
