Agriculture's Decline Threatens Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction in Nepal.
The article examines how agriculture impacts Nepal's economic development using statistical analysis. It shows that while poverty has decreased in the past fifteen years, increasing economic growth could further reduce poverty. The contribution of the agriculture sector to Nepal's GDP is decreasing each year, while the non-agriculture sector's contribution is increasing. In the fiscal year 2019/2020, agriculture contributed 27.7% to GDP, with non-agriculture contributing 72.3%, compared to 27.0% and 73.0% respectively in the previous fiscal year.
