Decentralized Land Management Empowers Communities, Boosts Transparency in Ukraine
The study discusses how to manage land resources and land use efficiently. It suggests a system involving two main parts: overseeing land resources at the national level and managing land use. National management of land resources is structured around the idea of moving from general to specific actions. Meanwhile, managing land use deals with various levels: sector-specific management by government bodies, local control by community authorities, and direct management by landholders and users. The research shows that revamping how land resources are governed involves shifting from top-down control to more collaborative and transparent methods. By promoting partnerships, openness, and decentralized decision-making, effective land management can be achieved.
