Drinking water in Kanglung community found suitable for consumption!
The study assessed the quality of drinking water at Sherubtse College in Kanglung. Samples were collected before and during the monsoon season and tested for pH, conductivity, total dissolved solids, total hardness, alkalinity, and dissolved oxygen. The water was slightly alkaline before the monsoon and slightly acidic during the monsoon. Most parameters met the standards for safe drinking water set by Bhutan and the World Health Organization, except for pH in a few samples. Overall, the water quality was deemed suitable for drinking, but further testing for bacteria is recommended.
