Precision irrigation systems in agriculture combine sensors, software, and irrigation methods to improve plant production efficiency and reduce costs. These systems have led to lower water usage, higher yields, and increased profits. New technologies like real-time crop monitoring have advanced precision irrigation practices. The focus of this overview was to explore the current state and potential of precision irrigation in the EU and Croatia. Understanding these technologies and their adaptive management in agricultural water use is crucial for future studies in precision irrigation.
