Gabion weirs are eco-friendly structures that allow solid objects and substances to pass through. A study looked at how the slopes of these weirs affect water flow. They found that gentler slopes on both sides of the weir led to more water passing through and a lower discharge coefficient. Larger material size also decreased water height on the weir. The researchers developed a formula to predict the discharge coefficient of gabion weirs with high accuracy.
