Peatland water balance predicts seasonal shortages and surpluses in Indonesia.
The study looked at different types of peatlands in Central Kalimantan to predict how much water they hold. They used a model based on rainfall and temperature data to estimate how much water runs off each month. The results showed that all locations had more water from January to June and October to December, but less from July to September. The open area had the most water, while the shrub location had the least.
