Biomass cofiring with coal is a promising way to reduce the use of fossil fuels and lower greenhouse gas emissions. But to make this work, we need a steady supply of cheap biomass and a good delivery system. Right now, there's no standard way to classify or treat biomass. We need more research on the characteristics of biomass, how to burn it properly, and the best conditions for cofiring. Incentives and supportive policies will help this technology grow.
