Organic Farming Boosts Soil Health, Revolutionizing Sustainable Agriculture
In a field experiment, different organic materials and biofertilizers were tested to see how they affect the health of soil growing winter sorghum crops. The mix of 100% recommended fertilizer, farmyard manure, good bacteria (Azospirillum), and beneficial fungi (PSB) showed the highest levels of helpful enzymes and microbes in the soil during the blooming and harvest stages. Another mix with vermicompost and the same good bacteria and fungi was also effective. The treatment only with the recommended fertilizer had the lowest levels of these important soil properties during those key growth stages. Mixing organic materials and biofertilizers seems to benefit the soil's health during winter sorghum growth.
