Chambal River Water Quality Decline Threatens Drinking and Irrigation Sources.
The researchers studied the water quality of the Chambal River in Kota city, India, for drinking and irrigation purposes. They analyzed 23 parameters to assess the water quality using the Water Quality Index and Irrigation Water Quality Index. The results showed that the water upstream of the Kota Barrage is suitable for drinking and irrigation, meeting the Indian Standard limits. However, the water quality downstream was found to be poor to very poor, making it unsuitable for consumption.
