Coal power plants cutting emissions by 11% with new oxygen tech!
The goal was to reduce harmful emissions from coal power plants. By burning coal with oxygen-rich air, the amount of carbon dioxide in the emissions increased, making it easier to capture. Increasing oxygen content from 21% to 95.6% raised carbon dioxide levels by 3.3 times and reduced power needed for capture by 11%. However, producing pure oxygen lowered the plant's efficiency from 28.54% to 21.59%.
