The article analyzes US economic data to predict future recessions using machine learning methods. By studying past recession patterns, the researchers created indicators that successfully forecasted the onset of the last six US recessions. The fully connected neural network method showed the smallest error in predicting future recessions. These indicators can help assess future economic activity in the United States based on current macroeconomic indicators.
