Boosting Bank Profits: Loans Key, Capital Not So Much.
The study looked at how the amount of money banks have affects how much profit they make in Nigeria. They used data from six different banks over five years. They found that having more money in the bank doesn't always mean more profit. But having more assets and giving out more loans can lead to higher profits. For every increase in assets, profits go up by 0.83 percent. And giving out loans can significantly boost a bank's income. The study suggests that banks should keep enough money in reserve and give out more loans to make more money.
