Organic mulching boosts okra yield while reducing weed infestation.
The researchers studied different ways to control weeds and improve the yield of organic okra. They tested mulching with sugarcane trash and hand weeding, which was the most effective method in reducing weeds and increasing fruit yield. Mulching with paddy straw also showed good results. Overall, using mulching and intercropping methods helped to lower weed growth and increase crop yield compared to not using any weed control methods.
