City planning revolutionizes food system with urban agriculture integration in peri-urban zones
Cities are looking for ways to feed people sustainably, so they are turning to urban agriculture. However, urban agriculture is not always included in city planning for areas around cities. The city of Almere in the Netherlands has successfully integrated urban agriculture into their planning for a new urban area called Oosterwold. This shows that it is possible for cities to include urban agriculture in their planning practices for peri-urban zones.
