Farmers in Niger Face High Vulnerability to Climate Change, Urgent Adaptation Needed
The research looked at how vulnerable farmers in Niger State are to climate change. By studying different factors like how well farmers can adapt, how sensitive they are, and their exposure to climate change, the researchers found out the level of vulnerability. They surveyed 400 households and discovered that vulnerability was low in some areas, very low in others, and high in another. This means that some farmers are better prepared for climate change than others. The study suggests that Niger State should include ways to deal with climate change in their plans, such as using better farming methods.
