A new study developed a way to efficiently manage parcel delivery at busy terminals by deciding which terminal to assign vehicles to. By using a mathematical model and Excel, the researchers found that minimizing travel distance between terminals in a hub can greatly increase efficiency. This approach could help parcel delivery companies handle more packages without overwhelming their capacity.
