Ambient water bacteria shaping gut health in fish communities.
The researchers studied the bacteria in the water and fish guts to see how they are connected. They found that Proteobacteria was the most common type in both, but Actinobacteria and Bacteroidetes were more in the water. The most diverse bacteria were Proteobacteria and Bacilli. The classes γ-proteobacteria and Bacilli were the most common, with Bacillus and Pseudomonas being the top types.
