Twitter is being used to discuss the Planned Parenthood debate. Researchers developed a way to find arguments in tweets by classifying them based on whether they support or oppose funding Planned Parenthood. They created a dataset of tweets with hashtags StandWithPP or DefundPP and trained classifiers to identify different types of tweets. The best performance achieved was 71% accuracy. The most important words in the tweets showed the main arguments for and against funding Planned Parenthood.
